Welcome to the Interfaith Forum for the Borough of Blackburn with DarwenWho are we?The Interfaith Forum (formerly the Interfaith Council) was launched in December 1999 and since then has worked continuously to build stronger links between faith communities and to promote community cohesion and social inclusion within Blackburn with Darwen. Since it inception, Interfaith Forum has become a trusted forum for exchange between the different faiths in the Borough. What do we do?The Interfaith Forum aims:
Why?Faith communities in the Borough, as well as throughout UK, are making Britain one of the most religiously diverse countries in the world. The Interfaith Forum provides an opportunity for people of different faiths to discuss issues of shared concern and work together to promote understanding and co-operation, recognising the common issues facing communities across faith boundaries as well as identifying the problems of marginalised and socially excluded groups. How do we get involved?The Forum ’s membership is determined from nominations from respected faiths. Members of the following historic world faiths who have members living within the Borough may each appoint up to four members:
